On March 21, 2023, the mortgage lender detected a network security incident that involved the unauthorized access and disabling of some company systems. An investigation, concluded on November 28, 2023, revealed that certain individuals’ personal information may have been accessed.
What Information Was Obtained By The Hackers?
According to the breach notification, the investigation revealed that data obtained by the hackers include:

Upon completing its investigation, Academy Mortgage began sending out a notice of data breach letter to all individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
For current and former employees, this information was maintained for payroll and employment purposes. Non-employees who received a letter are affected because they, their spouse, or someone of whom they are a dependent previously applied for a mortgage with Academy Mortgage Corporation.
