Set Forth Data Breach Exposes 1.5 million Consumers to Identity Theft Featured

What Happened?

According to the Notice of Data Security Incident, on May 21, 2024, Set Forth became aware of a security incident on its IT Network. As a result, it launched an investigation with the assistance of forensic specialists to determine the nature of the incident.The investigation determined that personal information related to its consumers may have been accessed during the incident.

What Information Was Stolen?

Based on the investigation, the following information related to potentially impacted individuals may have been subject to unauthorized access:

  • full name;
  • address;
  • date of birth;
  • Social Security number.

What is Set Forth Doing To Protect My Identity?

According to the November 8th notice being mailed to affected customers, after the incident, Set Forth deployed enhanced endpoint monitoring software, performed a global password reset, and implemented additional security controls to prevent any similar re-occurrence.

In addition to these measures, Set Forth are offering identity theft protection services through Cyberscout for 12 months.
